Switch to Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org). That will take care of unwanted popups and help prevent getting at least some of the spyware in the first place.

Also.... there are two free popup blockers that work perfectly believe it or not. Go to Google or Yahoo and download it. It adds a little quick search bar to your browser and it blast all thsoe dang little pop ups. What a relief!
