woodycrest, I just bought a new Simplicity Z mower. What is the height of the bottom of the rollers from a flat surface on your setup. Mine is currently 1 5/8", and I'm not quite getting the stripe I'm looking for. I'm cutting at 4" on a bluegrass/fescue lawn with some pesky wire grass here and there. Thanks for a reply.

Riddler,
The rollers on mine carry the weight of the deck, there is no clearance. Any adjustment would only change the cutting height. Is the pitch of your deck correct? The only time there is clearance between the ground and the rollers is when the deck is raised for transport. What model Z did you buy, im not sure if the deck is the same as mine. my machine is an Agco 1616H....2001 model...same as a broadmoor with a different name. this is one of my favourite areas to stripe... |

heres one more...
the short grass (fairway) was cut with a reel mower. I stripe the whole property first with the agco, then cut out the fairways. Makes for very distinct edges. i think attractive golf courses are all about different textures, cutting heights and turf color. |
