Bush Trimming

I've got an estimate for trimming some arborvites, for shape. I've trimmed these bushes before, but not for shape. Two are pyramidal, two are global. Any suggestions or things I should/shouldn't do?

I blow them out with the blower after I rough them out, then you can use your hand pruners to cut back the large wood back into the foilage and reshear. Stay out of the brown and hide your cut marks on any wood by using your hand pruners.

P.S If you spray them with water first your shears will not gum up.
