Old or New, which one to use?

I am deciding between my old desing and this new one, which do you prefer and why. BTW: new one is not completed yet

Thanks,

Rex

I think the new one is better, the old one is too bare and the intro takes too long to get through

But sometimes sites that are "bare" are better.

The new one by far. The first one - I sat through a half minute of nothing staying long enough to remember.

One half minute, and I knew nothing about you.

The second site is better, except for the photos moving which are a distraction when trying to read.

Why not just put all 5 photos up still?

Maybe it's me, but I have a tough time trying to read when something out of the corner of my eye is moving.

Now if you could delay or slow the speed - that would be different too.

Now I tend to go the old fashion way - photos and text on white background - www.mdvaden.com

Look at pruning - modern times, but it's still a hand pruner, hand saw, and chain saw - maybe shears.

The finest pruning and shaping in the world, and still with the basics.

Here is an re-desing of the new site. It is more personalized to our company and to us. It still needs some minor changes.

Better or worse than the "old site"?

old site

re-designed new site

Peace,

Rex

The new.

I think I know what was uncomfortable about the old.

Check it out - the view.

Imagine you were Saddam Hussien or someone imprisoned in a dark vault, peeking outside.

That's the feel it gives - placing the viewer in a dungeon position.

The new one is totally different.

The new by far.

I was trying to click through the intro. Websites with flash intros are extremely annoying to me unless they are over in a flash (no pun intended).

I didn't even make it through the intro on the first.

But the new one is definitely cool.

We decedid to run with the new design for our site. We
have tweaked it a little bit, and still have a little more to do.
But, I am very happy with the site. One of my paver vendors paid to have it designed and will pay the monthly hosting. It saves me $70.00 a month.

Thanks for all the input on both sites.

Peace,

Rex
