tires

My son and I just bought a used trailer for a great price. One thing it need is TIRES. My question is, "DO I NEED SPECIAL TRAILER TIRES OR CAN I BY RETREADS AT MY LOCAL TIRE STORE FOR A LIGHT PICK UP, MAYBE AT A CHEAPER PRICE ". I realize that safety is always an issue and I rely on this trailer to help us make our pockets green,

So, Who should I see??????????
Any info or feed back would be appreciated.
P.S. 6'X10' trailer

What is the laod capacity of the trailer, what does it weigh? IMHO tires are the last place to skimp. (eg: ever blow a trailer tire on the freeway with a full load? bad bad bad

what size tires are on it now? what are you going to be using it for? how heavy is the stuff you will be hauling? those are some questions you need to answer before you buy tires.

Car and truck tires should work.Depending on your load.

Buy a tire that is made for trailers. Unless it has 16 inch wheels then you can use a pickup tire. Most trailers need the shorter profile of the trailer type tire. You wont find a car tire that is rated to carry the same weight in a low profile.

buy trailer tires! they make them for a reason! they have stronger sidewalls than most car/truck tires of the same size.
