Best source for paper I've found is www.stratografix.com - I use the 20lb CAD bond for all but rendered plans. It works out to less than $10 a roll, if I remember right. I usually buy my ink from www.thecadstore.com - they're a hair cheaper than hp, and I can't justify putting any other mfr's ink in a $10K plotter.

Like Kirk said, you need to be really careful with pdfs. There's usually just enough distortion to throw you off, even if you've done everything right. If I'm sending a pdf to someone, I try to dimension everything relevant right on the plan and include my "warning block" that says "not for construction/ scale drawing at your own risk."

@ Kirk- so I take it you finally found someone local? That's awesome- you might almost have enough free time to catch a breath now!

John,

Feel free to contact me anytime. I have been using the software for a few years, but this year with the help of a CAD operator we are stretching the limits. I am looking forward to upgrading to version 13 and enjoying even more great features.

John, in my profile you will find my homepage, web site. You can find a link there for my email. We are not permitted to post emails here and you do not have enough posts for a Private Message.

Dave, my stepson who is studying CAD at college has been helping me out while he is not in school. Beside the computer work I have had him on the jobs planting, digging, and learning all the fun things I get to do. He's been a huge help, but it's only until school starts.

Looks sweet! I'm going to wait 'till version 14, I don't have that much money to toss at software this year.

K I have a question, I have Pro 13 and love it. I have a problem though. I am designing an entry way that has a stone entry sign in it. I can get it on the planner, but I cannot get it to transfer over to the 3D view. Is there a way to do it. Also is there any other websites that can lead to more or other type of help with ProLandscape 13. Thanks in advance
Quinn

Quinn, I have not run across that issue, but the folks at Pro Landscape are very helpful. I usually get an answer back to an email within 24 hours and whenever I have called, they have been prompt and helped out.

I haven't played with the 3D view from planner much yet, but I'm sure it can do some amazing things.

Seems like this post has lost some heat latly, put I'll post anyway.
Is there a website that you can download new hatches, plants and other things from regarding this program? I'm sure there are alot of pros working this program and when I was using CAD I could find alot of images online that I needed.
Also what about a site to post some of our plans on, to show of our work?
Just my thoughts
Quinn

Quinn,

I like your idea, but am not aware of any site other than Pro Landscape for additional information. Perhaps we can convince them of a users area that we can all share ideas, questions or information.
