john deere striping
i currently have an exmark lazer z but it will be traded in by the end of the yr if not sooner. dont have any problem with exmark and am satisfied with their service. however, ive heard a lot of great things being said about the john deere mid mounts. i am goin to demo a 777 late this week on one of my propertys. they look very classy and i know john deere makes a quality product. in my area i havent seen a deere that lays down some mean stripes like my exmark does. does john deere make a good striping kit or is it impossible to get them to stripe? just curious and any input is appreciated.

My understanding is that a roller is available for 60" 7 iron deck only.
I have a 725A that stripes like a dream. How is your 725K?

the 725k doenst do too bad but not near what my exmark does. doesnt stripe all that well and i believe the 25 hp engine is underpowered and wnats to bog down. another thing i dont like is how uncomfortable it is to drive. ur arms have to be extended fully to go full speed ahead. the real reason i purchased it is to attach the prolawn sprayer to as we are in the process of buying a guys spraying biz. does great on that but i really dont like to mow with it all that much. this is all just my opinion and im not bashing hoppers by any means. there are plenty of large commercail guys in my area running nothin but hoppers so im sure they must be doing something right. by the way thanx for the input green monster

I read your sig and had a feeling that is why you had the Grasshopper. the hydrolevers are adjustable on mine, and my wife who is only 5'2" runs it with no problem. The K is air cooled?

John Deere has a roller for both the 60 and 72 on their Z's.

i'm demoing a 777 tomorrow. I wasn't aware that there was a roller available for them though.....cool.
I'm interested to see how the 777 performs though, that's for sure. I've had 3 grasshoppers: 725, 225, and 721D. They were decent machines, but I can't see myself buying another one. None of the models I had striped worth a hoot, and for as high priced as they are locally there are several machines that I prefer over them. |
