I have another thread started about lookign for a truck. Here is another truck I am looking at now. What do you think?

1999 Chevrolet 2500 4x4 6.0 V8 - 24,000 miles

asking $18,500

sharp truck,i'd check with KBB to see if price in accurate...

KBB for it is $15,100 --but these days trucks do not go anywhere close to KBB. Too much demand for them I suppose.

Searching a lot of other cars and it seems like 18,500 might buy a newer truck with bout 50k miles on it. But not extenended cab.

Would ytou rather have a truck two years newer or 20,000 less miles?

Five years and 24,000 miles!!!! Something doesn't sound right. Was this a little old man's truck or did it sit, I would try to find out the story. Good lookin truck though.

It was a guys toy truck. He pulled a 12 foot camper with it to the mountains every couple months. That and tot he hardware store if he needed., His other cars are Porsche Boxster and Cadillac Escalade.

Well, if you put it like that then yes it is probably worth it. Have you figured out what truck you want? Or just looking for one with good numbers? I bought the truck I wanted and have never looked back and never regreted it. Just something to think about.

Hamons, I'd say a newer truck.. The only reason people get those crazy inflated prices is.... Because others will pay them...

I want/need either a 3/4 ton Chevy or Dodge.

The way I see it -- this truck will easily last me another 10 years.

Take care of it and it will last longer than that. It looks really good for a 1999. I am off tomorrow to look at a 1999 Chevy 1500 Silverado Z71 with 59K, tonneau, bedliner, leather, push buttom 4x4, dark grey exterior, tan leather interior. Its a dealership truck and I think they want $16,995 but they are having a sale so I will stand pat at probably $16,500 out the door. Gotta move trucks with the 2005s coming out in 6 weeks or so.
