Funny, I heard the same thing predicted for this summer. I wouldn't worry about it - alot can and will happen between now and then...

FWIW, when gas goes up, so does lawn care!

Wouldn't worry about it? The pump prices have leveled off at 1.99, but I remember paying around 1.85 for 87 just one year ago (and I thought that was outrageous then!). I doubt they will hit $3.00, but I bet we'll see mid $2.30's for 87 next summer and will probably level off around $2.15's.

IT COSTED ME $13 TO FILL A FIVE GALLON CAN THE OTHER DAY GEE WIZ!!!

In light of the possible increase in fuel, I am sending a letter of possible fuel surcharge for next year. If it gets over 2.00 a gallon (where I live), they will simply pay the percentage difference.

So if the price of fuel goes to 2.95 and I use 2 gallons for that property (trucking and mowing combined), They'll get charged 1.90 on top of their quote...

You service for 7-22-05

Mow and Trim......................48.00
Fuel Surcharge*....................1.95
------------------------------------------
Total 49.95

*Fuel surcharge is based upon fuel prices rising above $2.00 per gallon. Surcharge estimation also takes into account price falling below $2.00 per gallon.

Ever notice WHEN fuel goes up? 73-74 when it doubles then it holds pretty steady tilll 79-80 when it doubles again holds steady till early 90'swhen it dobles again so its time for it to go up again. last yr it was somewhere around $1.50 a gal. so if it doubles like it has at every major raise $3.00 is not out of the question and the timing is right.

Mac. Can remember it at .27 a gallon

Supply and demand has NOTHING to do with the increases. It's real simple: Gas is a monopoly and all the oil companies are getting richER off of us. There is NOTHING we can do about it except ask our government to act more socialistic (by regulating oil prices), which is a very bad idea.

Amen

Amen ******!........the less government intervention the better.

I am big fan of domestic exploration and drilling so we don't have to depend on others.
