mulch beds, etc.

I've seen some people dig out a small trench like groove around their mulch beds, but at what depth or how wide to you dig this?

Or is there a tool that is easier to use for this type of edging?

You need to post in the correct forum. Try the Landscape Forum.

jsfrk, try doing a search for "bed edger". You sholuld be able to pull up some pictures of the machines and of some of the trenches they make. They are a hot item around my part of town, we get $1 per foot for the trenches.
