What are the little balls by our screen names?

I noticed that when we post something, there is a little ball by our screen name. Some have a little blue ball and some have a ball with green center with a blue lining.

What does this represent?

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

The green ball means that the member is now online. The blue ball means that the person is offline.
