Tecumseh oh-14

I have a tecumseh oh-14 with ele. start

my question is:
The ACR on the cam is broke can I get away without it?
Cause I don't feel like buying a new cam that cost about $70.00.

Thank you for your time and effort

Tony

I don't know for sure but I would think that you could because the only thing thae ACR does is make the engine start easier. If it is broke and you don't replace it then the engine will just be a little harder to get started.

Would the starter wear out more quickly or just tax the battery?

It shouldn't hurt anything. The engine will be a little harder to turn and may take a little longer to start but I don't think it will hurt the starter or battery enough for you to notice it.
