Commercial Grade Mulch????

Is there such a thing as commercial grade mulch? If so, did you ever use it, and is it better then regular mulch?

Never heard of it. Mulch is mulch. IF the customer is happy I am happy. I could sell you some Comercial Grade Mulch if you want but it is 3-4x the price of regular mulch and it looks the same.
What ever I do I must do it right!

The "commercial grade" designation may just be how it is named... One of the mulch suppliers not too far from here sells a product called "Homeowner's choice". It's pretty close to the same mulch that we get from a different supplier that's named "Premium hardwood".

The only true differences when it comes to hardwood bark mulch are how many times it's been shredded (i.e.- how big are the chunks), and whether or not it's been dyed.

Something tells me that the "commercial" grade mulch in question has some large chunks.

Commercial Grade Mulch

What your customer means by Commecial Grade Mulch is mulch from a Bulk Landscape Material dealer as opposed to mulch from a Home Improvement Store.

there are some mulches that are certified. IE certied to be free of pathogens, bacteria, and of uniform size and shape. But that is mostly for Playground and Daycare purposes. Not cheap either....
