Striping illusions?

When I cut my yard my stripes always seem to look better when looking at them from the North. When I look at them from the South not so good.

Thinking this was how the light was hitting the grass, I've been checking at different parts of the day, but they always seem to look better from the north?

This is the case with all my yards, the stripes seem better from one direction only?

Is this the case with other people?

My equipment.....
52' Exmark Vantage series 4 deck
High lift blades
3/4 rake
