response rate for advertising in a paper

I plan on passing out post it notes, but what kind of response rate can you get from putting an ad in the paper. THis paper goes out to 134,500 people so wondered how many calls you think i could get.

I ran the following ad in a a paper who's Sunday circulation is 80,000. It ran12 days ago and to date I've had about 10 calls. Calls still trickle in. Ad was 1/4 page in size (about 6x8") and cost $375

Where did you get that pic of the guy w/ the WB. I was looking to put someing on some new biz cards and that would be great.

I'm starting an ad next week about a 2" x 3"1/2" box that will run in two local shopper type advertising papers, ads will run for eight weeks with an offer of $15 off first months bill if sign for the season by 03/31, this will be for the first four weeks, 2nd four weeks will be 10% off weed & feed with purchase of aeration, expires end of April. Will try & keep updates on how they go, this weekly paper (actually two papers) is circulated freely in about a four county area so of which I'm in the center of. The cost is fairly inexpensive and these papers are put in mailboxes, left on doorsteps, newspaper boxes and retail stores like grocery and convenience. Starting to pick up some business for the season now but am anxious to see how this works out for me myself, if it pans out I may run a six to eight week block in the early fall as well.

Did you use MS Publisher to write the ad?

I actually used Power Point and saved in 300 dpi format but Publisher would work very well also......most of them I've done have been with Pub.
