    Hi everyone
Is there any Exmark mechanics out there I need some help. I've got a 05 Lazer Z 48" cut that has blown a fuse twice. When it happens the mower shuts off just like you turn the key off.The mower has 2 fuses 1 with red wires 1 with violet wires. The one that blows is the one that has the red wires and it comes from the starter solenoid but I don't know what it runs.Put a fuse in it and it starts and runs fine.Has anybody every had this problem.

    Thanks

Sounds like you have the typical intermittent shorting safety switch module.

The red wire fuse feeds power to the entire harness for starting and running, When the fuse blows the fuel cut-off shuts fuel flow off and engine dies. Then the blown fuse won't power the starter for re-start.

You should find a black box under the seat just behind the front kick panel, They'll be a few wires running into it. There should be a black wire coming out of it and hooked to a bolt/frame ground point, Remove the black wire and wrap with tape then test run the unit. If it no longer blows the fuse replace the safety switch module.
