im working on a monument for the fire department, and i was thinking of using 1-3 low voltage uplights/well lights to highlight some key features. do they make small transformers or something that will for this application? anything you can recommend?

How many watts per fixture are you needing for this?

Let me add to this request, too. I have a guy with one 120v spot on a palm tree. The failed aluminum fixture is all corroded and designed to hold debris and water like soup in the top. Nice guy, friend of two of my customers, and he doesn't want more lighting. I thought it would be nice to substitute with an lv fixture, but I need a direct burial small trans. Any suggestions?

RSL has a 75 watt mini transformer that converts 120 to 12v and it will fit into a regular exterior outlet box. You can get these from Terradek.

Oh no. 16 watts is much, much higher than 36 watts.....:hammerhead:
Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Of course 36 watts is higher than 16. Just like 50w is higher than 35w. Higher wattage equals higher output. At least as far as your concerned with this scenario that is.

If you only use two of these fixtures, then you have a valid question. I've never used either of these transformers, so I don't know how to guide you there. Your inquiry is based upon references to the most knowledgeable dealer in the industry, so why don't you just ask Gerry DeLavega (the owner of Terra Dek) which one is better? He's a straight shooter and will guide you correctly.
On the other hand, if you use 3 of these goofy lights, then neither of these transformers will work. 36w X 3 = 108 watts! You will need a transformer that can handle at least that much, and an 88w transformer will not.
By the way, these are transformers not controllers. A controller is something that would turn them on and off, and the transformer is the thing that reduces the line voltage to low voltage. Your examples, I believe, do both.
