    I see Chevy/GM is coming out (2004) with a 4-wheel version of a 1-ton (not dually).

    Any thoughts on that?

I see so MANY of the Ford F350 and think 'dang that's overkill' since most never need that much payload capacity. Most I see are pretty much city driving, and maybe they tow an occasional recreational trailer like snow mobiles or a rec boat.

But now that GM is coming out with one, I can easily see ME in one doing that same overkill thing.

They always used to have a one ton pick up. I have an 88 GMC 1 ton pick up, don't see many of them around but they are out there.

They just started remaking the 3500 SRW, they have made them long time before that though. Happy to see they are doing that... Don't know why they stopped making them anyways.

Huh, I didn't realize they made them before... Guess I wasn't in the market then.

So what do you all think about em now for 2004?

They each have a 1ton single axle for years. F350, 3500 etc.

    this is from their site:

With all the Vortec and available Duramax power ... the new 3500 4x4 single rear-wheel model will debut early 2004.

    Notice the word "debut"...

the current body style doesn't have a 3500 single rear wheel from gm. the older body style had the option of single rear wheel on a 3500 truck.
