Started working on a big commercial area with 20 zones on 2" PVC mainline.

One zone is inop with no power. 20 14 ga. black cables and 2 white commons are used for all. We have used our 521 to track back to a box where there are 10 black cables and the 2 whites. One of them is the cable for our inop zone. The cables are on top of the PVC and we think the box has been driven on for years and may have severed our cable for this zone.

If we are unable to see the damage and need to expose the correct cable, how can I get the right one? This is a new one for me without any color coding at all.

Is it possible to check for amps, or is it just time to get out the voltmeter and the wire nuts.

I re-read johns post, yes this is a partial TDR job. I guess the check will be in the mail after all.

I orignally thought he was sorting multiple wires not a single.

Could be pretty easy with the right tools/technique
