10 Cables No color coding.

    Could you pull one wire apart from the others about an inch or two and check for voltage with an adjustable non contact voltage detector? If its this box, assuming its a standard box in the ground, why not pull the box and inspect the wires?

    I think they are more common in the electrical field but basically you can insert it into a receptacle or near a wire and it will tell you if its "hot" the adjustable model is nice so you can adjust its sensitivity and avoid interference in tight areas with more than one wire.

    i know what a non contact voltage detector is, i have fluke, greenlee, sperry along with a couple of volt alert drivers.
    haven't used an adjustable though.
    you do realize that they dont detect voltage dont you?

    We will be removing the box to check for obvious damage.

    We are dealing with 10 separate 14 ga. conductors (cables). My error.

    Any recommendations on voltage detectors? Our only time we have needed one, so inexpensive is a plus.

    sent you pm with my number. NCVD's don't work all that well in these situations, there are better inexpensive mdthods.
