Is a 13hp Kawasaki KAI engine powerful enough for a 36" belt drive walk behind?
Plenty of power get a velke and hold on tight
I agree. My toro 32 had a 12.5 and lasted for 10 years. Still runs, just is never used anymore.
got a 12.5 kohler on my old 36 belt scag. never gets bogged down or anything
it seems the answer is thumbs-up on the 13!
A 15 would be better..but the 13 is perfectly adequate for a 36-inch belt. If it were Hydro I'd have second thoughts.
I have two 36" belt drives with the 12.5 Kawi motors. I think that these motors are fine for those machines. It's funny, I remember back in the mid-eighties when the Buntons were the big deal, they had a 48" with an 11 hp Honda on it
Remember 10Hp Briggs's on a 48 lol.
Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear that 13hp works well on a 36".
If you plan to do any mulching with outlet closed the 13hp is going to be alittle short unless it has more power than 15hp Kohler?
