I pull an X2 sulky and am thinking about pulling a chain striper, would I still have enough HP to run doubles?

I run 52/17 TTHP with 2-wheeled velke, it is plenty of power but I really doubt the benefits of doubles. I would not do doubles as you increase the strain on pulley and spindles, unnecessarily shortening belts life, let alone engine, besides there is no need down here to do doubles, just a set of sharp, sharp high lifts good enough.

    Alright thanks, any other suggestions?
