17 hp kawasaki running bad then quitting

    i have a new kawasaki fh500v,,installed in june 2005,,this engine the past week under a load had started dying when blades engaged or moving forward,,when i slow down,,it pics back up,,doesnt do it allthe thime,,just sporadically,,i did buy 2 coils,,changed one of them(didnt want to open other yet),,it seems that when there;s a load it wants to die after it warms up,,thats why i thought it may be coils,,any help is appreciated,,,thanks

    You may want to check for water in the carb. reference 13 is a bowl drain screw. Also next time it does this try applying the choke slowly if it picks back up it's fuel related if not ignition related.

    Mine did the same thing for the first 30 hours. I think it was possibly overheating until the engine was broken in. Hasnt done it since then, course I switched to synthetics at 50.
