17 year cicadas are back!!!!!

    How will you cope this season with the upcoming invasion of the cicadas? our local entymology staff estimated 5 billion will be flying around.

    They were just here in '99 I think....:confused:

    They were in Pittsburgh when I was there in 02....

    yes they were all over here in 02. They dont really bother me. Ugly suckers, I can say that. I remember mowing a lawn and looking down at my shirt to notice I had about four attached to me. :eek: Harmless, but enough to make you jump.:blob3:

    I forgot, it was last summer or the one before here. Dang they were loud. In some places I could hear them over the mower.

    We have a large yard with several mature maples and oaks, and when those suckers started dying, they were 4-6" deep around the base of the trees.We had a solid week of rain after that. They smelled worse than garbage on a hot day lying there rotting around the trees. I would hit them w/ the Z and throw 'em 40-50 feet in all directions.They also make great bass bait...mmm mmmm mmmm...<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_3_133.gif' border=0></a>

    I think this is the year we are due in my area!

    I enjoy them. they mess up your windshield but the fishing is fantastic!!!
