17hp w/48deck

    Do you think a 17 /with mulch kit and stank on sulky will work
    ok? I am in fl. and cut st augustine grass.

    Depends on frequency of cut and how much moisture.
    On a regular basis and average moisture content the 17hp will work, just keep a real sharp set of blades on your unit.
    If your in a situation where growth and moisture is high, then you should look at a Super Walk Behind, in a 48" you can get the 23hp Kawasaki.
    The larger hp will handle the heavier growth with ease.
    Mulching is going to require the most hp you can get, that is another reason to look into the SWB.

    If you can afford it. Go with the Super walk-behind. Then you wont have to worry about power. They are a great machine
