    Hi,

Would a 19 inch kawi be under powered for a scag tiger cub with a 48 inch deck? Ive got a chance to buy a tiger cub for a good price but its with the 19 Kawi instead of the 23 or 24 kohler/Honda/Briggs.

    Thanks for your input!

    Jeff

19hp on a 48 you should be fine, more power is nice though but you shouldn't have any problems

Well this is just for a start up. If all goes will ill get another 60" Turf tiger or what not but I figure 48 should be good to start with.

    Thanks

Just a couple points to make

Measure your gates, if you can't fit a 48 in the backyard then don't get it and get a 36", as you are planning to get a 60" later on already. A 36" for small props and backyards and a 60" ZTR is a great combo, but if you can fit a 48 in the backs of props then thats even better.

You should be fine. Just take your time over the tall overgrown stuff.

19 horse on a 48 inch cut is under powered,a backup unit not a front mower in heavy spring grasses.

I have a 19HP Kaw on my 42" Scag Z Cat and it works great. I've gone though some pretty tall stuff with it, for testing it's power. It should be fine for normal growth and the few that get ahead of the mower.

19hp on a 48" cut should be fine. You may have to slow down a bit in the thicker stuff but other than that, you'll be fine! Why only a 48" cut?

    Hi,

Its my first machine and I figured a 48 inch ride and a 32/36 walk behind. The tiger cub is going to set me back $9000 CDN and I don't wanna know how much a 61 inch is. I am planning on mostly residential but if I ever get another one it will be 61".

    Cheers
    Jeff
