1985 snapper

    my neighbor just gave me a'85 snapper. 21" comm. grade,self prop.,4hp. b.s.engine. i changed the oil,filter and plug and it fired up after a few pulls!no smoke at all! i cleaned it up and it looks pretty good for its age.tranny and everything works good. whats it worth?thanks. oh, the j.d. above has a6.75 b.s. engine.

    Snapper...LOL I have 2 Snappers that were both purchased in like '84 I believe, and they are BOTH still running strong. They have had wheels replaced, as they have worn out, but still fire right up. Now mind you,..these are just the standard 19" solid handled mowers (one set up for bag, one for side discharge). Granted, they no longer get used, but they were used for several years - every day. I still remember hearing the gals voice at the store saying. "Oh,..you won't want those models for commercial use,...they'll never last."
