1997 chevy ingition switch

    hey guy just recently my 1997 chevy truck the key wont turn the ignition switch with out much playing with the switch. I think the key is worn down. Maybe. how can i get a new key. I have lost all of my o ther keys.

    Take VIN number to GM dealer and have them cut one from code.

    Or just go to the auto parts store and get a whole new key cylinder. Of course you will have to get the key to turn just the once so you can push the release and remove the cylinder. Should only cost $15 or so. I'm betting that would be a lot less than having a dealer cut a key from specs.
