I noticed that the 36 inch Hydro TrimStar is using two differently sized blades, a 20.5 inch and a 13.75 inch.

-- What's the logic behind this (instead of using 2 18 inch blades for example)
-- Without any overlap, the two blades add up to only 34.25 inches. There got to be some overlap, what is the actual cutting width on the 36 inch deck?

-- Are the two different sized blades causing any funny striping patterns?

    Thanks for the help

    Good questions....
The design of this deck is similar to our new Mini Z 36 and current Mini FasTrak.
Difference being it is a heavier duty deck and a commercial version of the Mini FasTrak deck.
The true cutting width is 33.5" per the specs I have, so that leaves 3/4 of an inch for blade overlap, which is plenty.
The different length blades have had no affect on striping patterns in any of our testing and in field use.

Wow, there's an awful lot of difference in tip speed unless the blades spin at difference speeds, isn't there????
They must speed at difference speeds, yes???

Both blades have the same blade tip speed.
On the 36" there are 2 different spindle pulley sizes.
