I am bidding on a 20 acre soccer complex, would like some input. They only want it mowed once a week. They want us to come up with our own fertilizing program ( I was going to use a 6 step program). They also want a price for aeration. It is a clay type soil with a rye and bluegrass mixture.

Where in illinois are you located, i'd go help you price it if you wanted? Also, aerating this clay is a pain in the A** i'd reccomend using some other type of soil conditioner, not aeration.

going rate around here would be about $30 per acre since it is almost all open flat area with very little trimming

    Cut $600
    fert $1600 per app
aeration around $1000 with a pull behind or Z mounted unit

Not knowing what kind of mowers your using I can only give you my 2 cents. 75k for the yr based on your 6 steps and 2 aerations and 28 mows. Thats said with out seeing it, if its in bad shape now add 10 k to the price to get it looking good and healthy.

The cut-price sounds fair the aeration sounds unprofitable that’s only 50 dollars and acre to aerate. And the fert price has my thinking too cheap as well were talking 865,000 sq ft of lawn to fertilize that’s a lot of bags of fert.
