2001 F350 Psd $$

    I'm thinking about upgrading from my 97 F350 4x4 single wheel PSD to a 2001 at a local dealer here. I've bought two trucks from him before, really good to work with. Anyway, he's got a 2001 F350 4x4 PSD crew cab with an 8' Bradford built flatbed, 153K, auto, single rear wheel. What do you guys think this truck is worth? I know the previous owner, and he hardly ever towed with the truck, it's got new brakes, had a new tranny put in about 30K ago, not really sure why it let go, but it's got a new one now, good rubber, solid front end. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    153,000 isn't too bad for mileage on a 2001. Considering the trans was just rebuilt, I would say about $15,000-18,000. But that all depends on the interior,exterior(dents,paint,etc). A friend of mine just sold a 1997 f350 psd with 189,000 for $11,000. It was in really good shape though. I would try to get the last year of the 7.3 if I were you.

    if its a lariat-16-18,000. if its and xlt-13,500-16,000. thats a pretty fair guess.

    I'm going to say it's around 20K, or in this area that would be about right.

    Sold my 02 f350 xlt psd 4x4 cc/lb (98,000 miles) for 21k about 3 months ago. The truck was my daily driver, minimal towing and was in very nice shape.

    I probably could of got a few shekels more, but the guy that bought was a buddy, had cash in hand and knew the truck well.

    As i've always said, the history of the unit is of more importance than the selling price (within reason).

    You mentioned that you knew the previous owner and knew his driving habits. That goes a long way when buying used. The 7.3 has a long way to go before it's going to get tired, and with a new tranny, for whatever reason, you may want to pull the trigger on that one, imho.

    i just looked up a kbb value, and it said 17,000. so i was pretty close. and thats if its a lariat.

    Those "book value" are guidelines. Around here, the resale is typically higher, even at the auctions.

    BTW, is that a Dodge or a Ford in your avatar? Your signature says dodge, but damn that looks like a Ford. :laugh:

    Please fill in a few details. Is this a XL, XLT or lariat. Hows the body on the truck?

    Should be a good truck for a while to come if it was maintained. The trans being low miles is a plus.

    I picked up my 01 F350 CC 4x4 dually last year. Id say that 16-18k in good shape dependent on the details on the truck.

    Question tho, why exactly do you want to sell/trade in your truck now?

    I would say around 15000-20000 b/c it does have a lot of miles. Its not the engine that you worry about it is everything else axles, front end, i know ford had problems with tie rods, ball joints and some other parts on that truck. See if the dealership will print off the manufacture notes on that truck and run teh vin through ford to see everytime it has been in the shop for warranty work and other stuff. My uncle ran me one and I am seeing some problems that they had recalled and they never went in for the warranty work.

    Body on the truck is dent/rust free, a few scratches here and there on the paint but nohting bad. The interior has been VERY well taken care of. Asking price is $15,500. All that being said though, I think I've had a change of heart since I first posted, and I'll probably hang onto my 97. My original reasons for getting rid of it were basically to move up to a Super Duty body and a 4 door, and move my 96 Powerstroke super cab, which is my personal pickup, down to a mowing truck and use the 01 for my personal pickup. However, i'm buying another mower this week, and looking at a dump trailer and maybe a mini hoe, and there is nothing major wrong with either of my Powerstrokes, or my old 84 plow rig, so I think I'll probably pass on this one.
