I just bought a 2003 F250 about a month back and I am still waiting on the owner's manual (long story) and I am due for an oil change. Could someone tell me the quantity of oil the 5.4 triton takes. Thanks.

5 Quarts of good quality 5-30, in hot weather I use 10-30 in my ford gassers...

The book will tell you 5 qrts. 5 will never fill it. I know several mechanics at the ford dealerships. They tell me its 6 qrts to fill them correctly. I've been using 6 for 3 years now and its always at the correct line on the dipstick now.

I have 2 - 5.8's and they both take 6 quarts to be right on the dipstick and ones an 85 and that takes 10w-30 , the other is a 95 and it takes 5w -30..... I know its not the same engine but its' similar.... Might want to just put 5 in and check the dipstick and then add from there untill you get it where it needs to be.... lots of luck with the new truck...
