Hey guys just sold my F250 and picked up a duramax. Its being paited right now because it had a few dents on the bedside. anyways Im looking into programming it and was wondering which one to got with. My father has an 05 duramax and his has the banks system on it but its super expensive!! so I was looking at diablo sport or quadzilla. what you think?

Go with the PPE Xcelerator, best one out for the Duramax.

Or you could go with EFI Live, but it's more expensive and a lot more complicated for the average person.

just wondering if your ford had a gas engine and if so what you really thought about it. how did it tow and what problems, if any, did the engine give you. im sick of these new diesels and its been so long since ive had a gas im not sure where to start.

If your going to chip it than don't let your 16 year old "lead foot" blow the transmission up.

I second that, I am so leery about adding power "goodies" to my truck as I don't want to either void the warranty or cause damage that will blow the truck up prematurely

My Ford had the 6.0 diesel in it so no it did not have a gas in it. as for towing trailers it did a great job i loved how it downshifted in the tow mode when coming to a stop. I have quite a few close friends who have the 5.4 or the v10 in their 250's. The 5.4 is slow.... but will pull the load. v10 is better for pulling but will drink the gas heavily. but honestly I wouldnt mind running a 250 with a gasser in it the new diesels are shitty. I wont run any diesel unless its a pre emission duramax 5.9 cummins or 7.3 stroker. And I will have a shift kit installed in the tranny so it wont blow the tranny up and prob a different torque converter. The ony reason im programming it is to offset the 6 inch lift and 36's the truck will be receiving in the next few weeks. I will look into the ppe

Also Mike if your very cautious about adding a power adder I would definitely recomend going with a banks system for your truck. They have so many way sof making it safe for your truck its not even funny. My dad has the same truck as you and the same cautiousness. I was overly impress with the banks system. They wont let the egt's go past 1400 degrees or else it will shut the throttle back. you can read every possible thing about your truck going on with the new monitor they have. He went with the six gun and monster exhaust plus the intake. it also gave him about 4 mpg better on the highway.
