I've been looking for a truck and came across a 2007 GMC with the duramax. It's got the new body style. Truck has 80 000 km or 50 000 miles and real good condition. Is there anything to be concerned about with this engine? It has the LMM duramax. From my research, it appears that this is the engine that first got the DPF and other emission control gadgets put on. This, in turn, seems to have negatively affected engine performance and fuel economy. Can anyone confirm this from their experiences or knowledge of the 07 Sierra. Thanks.

Cant speak for truck itself but you are correct on DPF affecting your mileage negatively.

I have 80k on my lmm. Its a great truck. The DPF
dose rob mpg's but not performance. I get 15 around town, 20 hwy. Towing heavy wieghts, 8K+ it drops to around 13...If u want a diesel for the status, dont,
if u need it for towing/work, u cant beet em.......
How much they asking for the truck???

Thanks for the feedback. On the road, they want $38 000 Canadian. It's a GM dealer where I maintain my current 2000 Sierra who is selling the truck. Truck is read good condition. Quite expensive for a used four year old truck I guess but diesels hold their value and trucks/cars are much more expensive up in Canada than down the U.S.
