    I have a 2011 60" TT with Kohler CV640-0016 engine, 20 HP.

It developed a steady loud tapping sound from the motor very late in the 2013 season, not to mention on first start up about half in the season it blew blue smoke.

Whats best, just replace the motor for about $1400 and save myself a headache or try to diagnose the problem?

I'm not against spending 2 or 3 times the money for a new motor, if it means another 2 years of trouble free service.

The machine and motor have about 1150 hours on it, Ex-Brickman unit.

    Thank you

make sure you are running 10w30, straight weight oil can cause its valves to make all kinds of sounds
