    Boy I would love to have a garden like that to fool around in my old age. I remember how it was in Indiana wher you could just drop the seed in the ground and stuff grew. Here you have to haul in the soil then put in drip irrigation and then keep all the animals that are dying for something to eat come calling.

    I killed one rabbit last spring (2011) thats all it took and the rest got the message.

    I can't say the same about the starlings that got the cherries this year. I got one starling and the rest laughed at me, but they knew when I had that .22 in hand and flew off.

    That's ok, I'll be prepared for them next season :drinkup:

    sweet what crops did u plant?
    i got alot of peas coming up on bamboo trellis
    endive
    broccoli
    lettuce
    cilantro

    We got some broccoli also

    Along with cauliflower & brussel sprouts but the mojority of the patch is turnips and turnip greens.

    We love turnip and greens but hate this time of year because we know winters coming :laugh:

    Our turnip greens and turnips are up, two weeks from planting

    Nice bed I remember we grew a lot of turnip and put them in some type of hole for winter storage. Hated the taste of them but we had a lot so we ate a lot. Thanks for posting it brings back good memories.
