    :confused: was wondering how much straw to blow on a new lawn 21,000sq. ft.????

    Depends on if you are going spread by hand or use a straw blower.
    I have found that you will use more straw if you spread by hand. We use a straw blower. I figure about 1 1/2 bales per 1000 sq ft.

    When we did spread by hand we normally got 2 bales / 1000 sq ft.

    agree with greengrow....2 bales per 1000 ft...but then i dont do allot of these new installs but the 3 I did recently this was about the avg straw used...and hes right about it going on a little heavy when done by hand....too much straw is not a good thing for germination
