Can anyone tell me if there should be any lag time on the controls of my skidsteer. The left joystick that controls the movement of the machine seems to have a little lag between forward and reverse or left right.
I have owned foot ,hand control machines for 15 years this is my first joystick machine.I cant get used to the machine and i think it might be the slow response of the controls. The machine has 2300 hrs is this common? If so is it an easy repair or is it a dealer repair.

There is an update to the pilot valve for that, Cat got a really bad name in 1998 on cold days, the machines would keep going forward even thought the pilot control was in reverse, my 247B2 was just right, not too fast and not too slow from forward to reverse.

Does the machine give a reverse beep when you go to the hard right or left?

Mine did that only when the oil was still a bit cold, took about 2 minutes or so to go away.

Well I have run across some with a bad chuttle(the valve below the joystick) and they always do that.
