I just wanted to ask what kind of service record these engines have, what the life expectancy is ect....

Have you had god or bad experience with this engine?

    23hp Kohlers are excellent engines.
We've had a very pleasing 4 year track record with several.

I've also owned other 23hp (vertical & horzontal) air and water-cooled engines. I had repeated failures with Kawasaki; ZERO with Kohler.

In air-cooled, the KOHLER 23hp is the most reliable with the best longevity.

I currently have 3200 hours on one and less on the others- all with 0 problems.

You should EXPECT 2000 hours and with proper care get upwards of 4000 hours.

I had them on a couple of 3-wheelers way back...they ran great...never any problems with them that I can remember.

I have one on my Scag Turf TIger and have never had any problems, just keep the air filter clean and change the oil on a regular basis and you should not have any problems.

Now is there any difference with the Kohler Pro other than the larger stock filter?
