I just did a pressure washing job on a 2300 sq ft 2 story home. The sides of the house were pretty high up and I even had to climb on part of the roof to get the sides of the dormers. The washer I was using was only rated for 2.9 gpm, and so the job took me about 8 hours. There was lots of mold and dirt build up on the house as well, but everything looked prett nice when I was through. Used a soap detergent as an initial rinse on the house. What do you guys think would be a fair price on a job like this. The house is in a nice middle class neighborhood in NJ where all the homes are 350K plus in value. Also, what would you guys charge powerwashing a 200sq ft deck with mold on it. Thanks for the responses.

You need to work on your speed. That should take one guy 3-4 hours max.

3 hours seems pretty fast for a large job like this. Do you find that rinsing with a detergent prior will really speed up the cleaning time? Also, would you say that $300 would be a good price washikng a 2000 sq ft home?

The $300.00 doesn't seem bad, depends on your location. I don't follow your detergent pre-rinse. Feel free to call me.

Thanks for the information. I am mainly in the landscaping business, but I do have the occasional powerwashing job that comes up. I am looking for some recommendations as far as buying a new pressure washer. Most of my jobs are getting mold off siding and doing patios or decks. The 2 pwashers I was looking at were a 3100psi 2.7pgm unit for $400 and a 4000psi and 4gpm unit for $850. Both with honda motors. Wasnt sure how capable the cheaper unit was for doing siding and smaller jobs. I have a number of questiosn about getting started in this type of business. I wouldnt mind giving you a call, just let me know the best time to reach you.

Around here you are not going to pull 4 gpm out the owners well for very long. We pay less than that for houses about 4000ft though. Extra for heavy cleaning. They are usually out of there in less than 2 hrs with 2 guys. They run out of a tank setup though.

Call any time I have some mold recommendations also. The more money you spend the happier you will be working with it. If you pressure wash once or twice a month you could save some money with the cheaper unit. If you pressure wash a lot more spend more and it will allow you to work quicker.

2 guys 45 minutes MAX and that is from the time we shut off the truck to starting it back up again to leave.

You are in NJ, give me a call and I will set up a time for some labor for learning... We have enough hacks out here and dont need anymore.
