I'm at a point where I have to re power my 60" laser z . It has a 25 hp kohlor now but for $10 less I can get the 27 hp. Are their ups or downs to the 27 ? The 25 comes with the muffler but the 27 its two parts still after buying both its $10 cheaper . :hammerhead: why ? it sounds like a better deal has anyone changed a 25 to a 27 both shafts are the same size bolt holes are the same what am i missing ? thank you in advance for any help

Places like Small engine warehouse buys OEM left-overs at discounted prices, They may have bought 50 25hp engines but 200 27hp engines thus they price them to move them out.

If everything is the same on the 27 go for it !

    hi ,
    The 25,27 are almost identical
camshaft spec is apparantly different duration lift etc
    the remainder of engine same
The only possible difference is type of spark system
    FIxed advance curve
    SAM equipped [spark advance module
can either be digital or analouge type
