I am in the market for a new mower.
Looking at the 26' exmark, (seen some bad reviews, but what else is in this category?)
and also looking at a 32'' exmark, but am starting to think it is too bulky for my contracts

I currently own a 21 inch honda, and want to save some time somehow
i got 8 contracts weekly, and all of them under 1/4 acre
Most have gates, and alot of obsticles

Any other brands with a mower that would fall into this category?

i have an open mind, but i keep reading EXMARK...

Toro, scag, wright, snapper, lesco and many others make a 32. Not many companies make a 26 though. Also look around the site for some info on the BOP Quickie 32. That machine looks sweet.

I'm in the same boat.... lots of gates. I finally am about to pull the trigger on a Better Quick 36, likely tomorrow. I have 3 accounts with cyclone fence gates that this machine can't get through. I may even drop them if I can get them replaced. Most newer gates, stockade and the vinyls have 40" clearances.

I was going to buy the BQ 32" which should be introduced in February, but it's 7" longer than the compact 36" machines, and I need something that is ultra manuerable.

As far as the eXmark 26, my dealer told me that they had serious problems with them early on, even one mod that took them 8 hours to do, but those issues have been cleared up, and the customers that bought the 26 are happy with it. For me, it was just too heavy. If I couldn't lift it into my p/u, and had to gets ramps or a trailer, I wanted a bigger machine.

So, I'll be on the phone with BQ first thing in the morning. I've heard the 3 blade machines like the BQ 36 can cause you to double cut if you go too fast, as the 12" blades get through the lift and cut area too quickly sometimes, but I'll just slow her down a bit if that is a problem. I have a lot of obstacles as well, so my biggest concern over speed is manueverabilty, ease of turning and whatnot.

Not sure, but I believe the blade speed will be faster on the 2 blade BQ 32 vs. the 36" machines which use the 3 blade system. I messed with the eXmark 26 a bit, but didn't demo it. It just seemed sort of bulky and not easy to manuever.

    Good luck!

If I take the Jungle Jim off the 48 Metro HP and put it on the 32 Metro pistol, have to unbolt the pipes and set the platform further back. I bought an extra attachment bracket and have one on each Metro, so I don't have to fool with that.

The Jungle works okay with the 32 pistol, but scrape my hands up a lot more compared to ECS. The Metro 32 with 12.5 Kawi single cylinder will pull the Jungle + 200 lbs. no problem. It's a good gate mower, but sounds like the BOP Quik is really taking off and can compete.

Having had a Metro 26 ... Iwould rather try an push around a 3/4 dually or use goats, got rid of that mower short of having it a month. Was slower then using a 21" commercial Toro, just due to weight and handling.

IMO stay with what you got before going to a 26"Metro. That 32" Quick may be a solution... will wait and see when it gets out this spring.
