I have narrowed my next mower down to a 60" cut Exmark with a 28 hp EFI engine. I want the best seat available (suspension) but no other options. What would be the best price I should hold out for?

I aslo have been looking at Hustler but no one around here is using one. They seem to be a good unit. How much higher is a Dixie than an Exmark?

Hustler SuperZ, 28EFI, 60", can be had for mid $8k. Great mower! I chose it over the Lazer after demoing both. The Hustler seems more refined but more heavy duty, and better warranty.

Just because you are not seeing them around in your area is NOT a knock on Hustler. Key is, do you have a dealer and do YOU have good rapport with him?

Hustler or Exmark, either is a good choice; which do you like mowing with better?

I have never driven a Hustler but I will before I buy again. I guess I'll wait for an Exmark sale or maybe Hustler will offer rebates again. What is the best time of year to get a good deal on a mower? Fall? Winter? or after the 06 models come out and try to find an 05 at a discount?

Keep an eye on the Hustler forum for an announcement :)

Then, find a dealer you like who'll make you a good deal.

Theoretically, fall or winter would be the best time.

Sure, I'll try to visit my closest dealer to start getting a feel for them. I'm in no hurry.

I purchased my 26 hp Lazer EPS in 2000, and paid $9300 out the door. Today, you can get a 28 hp EPS for the same and cheaper. Incredible machine.

While Exmark has been steadily raising prices over the years Dixie Chopper's pricing had remained fairly consistant. If the Exmark 28 EFI is $9300 as Runner said then the 28 EFI Dixie can be bought for less. They go for $8700 at several dealers in my area.

Your a bit too far away for me to demo it, but sounds like a good deal.
