2nd time 17hp kaw

    this is the second time my 17hp kaw bent a push rod!!!!! what is causing this?? is it easy to replace?? last time I just got a new eng because no time to fix! now I got 2 with bent push rods!!

    Dropped valve guide? How is the cooling system working......Are the cooling fins on the heads packed with debris, this can overheat the heads and the valve guides will begin to slip in the head. Is the governor set properly, your not over revving the engine? Bad gas......if a lot of water gets thru you could get hydraulic lock. The list goes on.

    Very common occurrence on these Kawas. They recommend checking/adjusting them every 3-500 hours.
