2stroke fuel test

    Hey. I need to know if there is a way to test fuel to see if it has 2cycle oil in it. I know you can look at it generally and tell. But my problem is if the customer swears they put the oil in it I need to have a way to "show" them they did not.

    Anyway, ideas/suggestions appreciated.

    Yes, there is.

    Take a piece of paper. Mark off three areas on the paper - "fuel only", "suspect fuel" and "known mix".

    Put a few drops from corresponding gas onto appropriate area of the paper.
    When the fuel evaporates, any oil residue will be on the paper.

    If your "known mix" has a darker stain than the "suspected mix" from the 2-cycle unit, there was not enough oil in the fuel.
