What brand or type of 2 ton truck do you mean a F-550 Ford or a older 1600 International or F-600 Ford ?

Most medium duty plow trucks are 2wheel drive they run a snow rated drive tire and use chains when neccessary plus they carry a good load of salt or sand in the box. A truck this size is really meant for doing large areas and roads where you are going in one direction and your not trying to do alot of manuevering.

I worked with the local highways dept and they told me once you got the momentum going don't stop if you stop you will be stuck I never did get to plow snow.
