Will a 2wd 2500hd go as good as a 1500 2wd. Not offroading but just everyday driving.

yes.there is not a good reason to think it will not.

I just thought maybe with the extra weight that it may be different. My uncle has a 80's model 3/4 ton that was 2wd and it would not move in wet grass on level. It was pethetic but I didn't figure the new ones where like that.

If you are talking about fuel economy, then you will probably see worse MPG with the 2500 than the 1500. The 2500 will have the different gears and probably a different engine (could be the same though).

The ride of the 2500 can be the same or worse than the 1500. I think GM's ride smoother than the other 3/4 trucks. The 3/4+ trucks I have driven from other brands seem to have a stiffer ride.

Towing wise, the 2500 will perform better due to the higher capacities...which should be common sense.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "will it go as good"?

Go as good in light snow. Not mud and offroading but just everyday driving. I only go offroad on solid ground. I want a 3/4 for the towing capacity.

In snow/slippery conditions you will probably get a little better traction. I don't know exactly how much traction you'll gain, but you will gain some traction because the 2500 is heavier.

Sounds good. That is probably the way I will go.
