hey guys I looked at a 3 wheel Ferris today. It is a 1998 or 1999 pro cut 61in. I think the motor was a 22 or 23hp. I cant remember but it was a Kholer. Also the machine had 730hrs on it. Its not bad the paint is a little scraped up on it. What do you think its worth. The guy said $3500 I was thinking like $2500 or $2200 tops. So what do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

2000-2200 would be a fair price. 3500 is way to much. I trade around on mowers alot and have owned three.....great machines. They just take up alot of space on a trailer!

thank you now I know that I am thinking the right price range for this machine. I have always wanted one and have heard a lot of great things about them too. Also like the fact they turn as sharp as a z turn. Can you get a stripe kit for these? Also does that rear wheel under the seat tend to dig in or make a noticeable line.

You will see a line in the middle of the cut from the third wheel.....kinda of like a walker mower makes. The turning wheel can dig in and tear the turf like a ZTR, but as you get comfortable with the machine you will learn to turn It without tearing. I have a buddy that has one (it's not the pro cut), but he's had great success with the mower and swears by them. They are also a good machine for hill mowing.

I started a thread sometime back called "what happen to the three wheel mowers" and the majority of the response was that they take up to much space on the trailer and are a little slower.

not sure on a stripe kit for one. i don't think they make one but I could be wrong.

ya I didn't know that there was a non pro cut. I know that there was a 52" model made. As far as being slow I drove it and it seemed plenty fast for me. I don't fly when I'm mowing. I think its like 6mph or something like that.

Also I heard put both armrests down because u can throw your self out of these machines I dont know if there is any truth to that.

The pro cut has the hydro cooler. I guess If you turned one to fast you sling yourself off, but never came close on any of mine. If your not worried about speed and you can get the mower for around your price I think you will be very satisfied with it.
