I am thinking of purchasing an Exmark for mowing 1 acre of grass at my home. I looked at a used 32" Metro today and wasn't sure if there is a way to adjust the cutting height, it looked fixed at about 3" and the owner had just used it as it was set. Is there a way to adjust height on the fixed deck mowers, or would I need a floating deck to get adjustability. Also the mower I looked at had an 8.5hp Briggs and Stratton engine, is this a dicontinued model? Was it ever available with 8.5hp or is this likely to be a replacement engine?

    Homeowner,

Thank you for the questions. The 32" Metro with the 8.5 hp Briggs is a discontinued model. The Briggs is a fine engine but most of our commercial cutters prefer the full pressure lubrication, air filtration and horsepower of the larger engines and thus the Briggs was no longer required in our line up.

The height is adjustable at the front caster wheels, with blade spacers and with the rear axle as well.

    Thank you

    Terry
