I'm new here and new to commercial walk-behinds. I was sick of repairing/replacing the 21" models every 3 years or so. I have about an acre.

I bought a SW36-13KA from a friend. The only problem he ever had, was that the blades would stop working and he would shake the wires goign from the handle into a black finned module that is behind the engine bolted to the engine deck right near the right handle and it would work. Well I've done this and it still doesn't work. Was hoping someone here would be able to steer me in the right direction. It's an electric clutch.

Probably the wires have come uncrimped on the connector or the connection is corroded or otherwise damaged. Go see your Scag dealer as this is a very easy fix (if it's what I think it is).

That's what I'm thinking too. Just don't know what that module on the engine deck is/does? I guess I'll pull it off and start checking the wires with my meter.

Any direction of testing would help.
